Today Victor and I are sharing our 35 year anniversary, which has caused me to reflect on how we met. We were both attending Brigham Young University, in Provo. We met our freshmen year, in our social dance class. I can remember the first time I saw him. It was refreshing to see and meet someone who was also from Guatemala, especially since I was so far from home. I remember our first time dancing together, he was an awful dancer. He still is, but we have enjoyed dancing together on each of our anniversaries, though I usually end up having a bruised toe by the end of it.
I remember how nervous Victor was when he asked me on our first date, it was so adorable. He took me to an Italian restaurant, and then we went on a walk around campus. This date was about three weeks after we met, and then a month after our first date Victor proposed and we were married May 1st for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.

As we have grown together in love and friendship I have become more and more grateful for the gospel and the opportunity that I have to be sealed to Victor and our beautiful children forever.
